AXXON Carbon masts

Light weight and performance

Axxon Composites has achieved a high level of specialization for over 15 years in the manufacture of carbon masts, combining traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. Each mast is carefully designed and built , from the initial study through to assembly and finishing.

Every mast is made to measure , in order to meet the precise needs of each yacht and each sailor, having impeccable finishes, thanks to varnish or paint applied in multiple layers, depending on the size of the mast.

Manufactured carbon mast categories

mât classique

“Standard masts”

Designed for maximum performance with minimal weight, these masts integrate all key carbon components—including the masthead, sheaves, anchoring points and, optionally, spreaders.

Their construction uses TCL technology (Thin Carbon Layers, consisting of ultra-thin pre-preg carbon plies), which helps reduce overall weight and optimize aerodynamics.

The result is a mast with excellent stiffness and maximum onboard comfort.

Mâts enrouleurs

Furling masts

Manufactured in a single cure in the autoclave (one-shot technology). Each bulkhead that creates the sail chamber is laminated and cured with the mast profile, ensuring:

  • 30–40% weight reduction compared with aluminium masts
  • reduced pitching and rolling for greater comfort
  • increased stiffness for improved sail efficiency

Why carbon masts make a difference

Weight and comfort gains

Thanks to the use of carbon, Axxon masts significantly reduce heeling and rolling, resulting in a faster, more stable and more comfortable boat.

Reduced drag and improved aerodynamics

The carbon structure allows for slimmer mast profiles, reducing wind resistance and improving sail efficiency.

Stiffness and performance

A carbon mast flexes less, providing more responsive handling and higher overall performance. This type of rig also offers enhanced safety and long-term durability, as carbon’s mechanical properties do not degrade over time, even in demanding marine environments.

Boom fittings

Mastery of rigging hardware from the Wichard Group (including the brands Facnor, Ronstan, Wichard Marine, and Profurl) enables Axxon to produce carbon booms equipped with high-performance, fully integrated systems. Each boom therefore offers sailors an optimal combination of strength and precision making maneuvers easier.

Service

Axxon provides comprehensive support, from order placement through to delivery and mast stepping, thanks to a network of specialist technicians. Each stage receives particular attention to ensure a product perfectly tailored to the client’s expectations and a smooth experience. Even after launch, Axxon remains present with a responsive after-sales service : its teams can intervene directly on site for any maintenance or repair work, ensuring performance and peace of mind on every voyage at sea.
